Wayne Rooney is an English footballer who plays currently for Manchester United and England national team. He plays as a striker for the team. He is often used as a play maker in the team. Rooney made his international debut in 2003. At that time he was the youngest player from England but the record was later broken. He is also a youngest player to score goal ever in the history of England. He has won the England player of the year twice in 2008 and 2009. He is also the most red carded player in England. He is sent of twice during his games for England.

Rooney joined the youth team of everton at the age of nine. He then made his professional debut for the club in 2002. He spent two seasons at Mersyes club before moving to united. He has won PFA Players’ player of the year and FWA player of the year in 2009 and 2010 respectively. He has also won the Premier League ‘Goal of the season’ awards. He is the third highest paid footballer in the world with an annual income of £18 million including sponsorship deal.
